I've been playing Terraria a lot lately.
Disclaimer: I'm not trying to trash the Christmas tree sword, but I do think that it is obsolete for when most players get it. Its damage is even less than the Terra Blade, a sword obtainable before you even beat Plantera. In addition, it lacks auto-swing, and its projectile does not come out at a reasonable speed. Though the projectiles deal more damage, the lack of speed does not warrant its usage over something like the Terra Blade. If you want a more effective post-Plantera sword that shoots projectiles, go for the Terra Blade; technically, you could even get it before Plantera. Most of the time, you'll be challenging the Frost Moon with post-Golem gear, anyway, so you might as well get the Influx Waver while you're at it. Horseman's Blade is also a versatile pick.
