Like many PS2 survival horror titles, Kuon has since become a rare find.
While the gameplay of Kuon is nothing to write home about, it makes up for it in droves with its atmosphere and setting.
Few titles have been able to build a strong sense of dread and unease like Kuon. It's an intriguing setting and tale that will keep your attention until the very end, and long after you're done with Kuon.
Let's take a gander at one of the more unsettling and overlooked survival horror titles from the Playstation 2 era, Kuon, courtesy of FromSoftware.
Today, they're best known for the Souls series and adjacent titles, but prior to those titles, they made a wide variety of games in different genres. Kuon is a great example.
This isn't their first dip into horror as well. The Echo night trilogy released prior to the release of Kuon. They're no strangers to making atmospheric titles, prior to the souls titles.
To note, 2004, the year Kuon was released, Hideki Miyazaki joined the company. He was not involved with Kuon.
