From her early days exploring the night sky to her university years and beyond, these jeans were by her side. When Sally learned about NASA's search for astronauts, she seized the opportunity and became one of the 35 selected out of 8,000 applicants, carrying her trusty 501® jeans to rigorous training in New Mexico.
On June 18th, 1983, Sally made history, shattering barriers and achieving greatness. Although her life was tragically cut short, her legacy lives on through Sally Ride Science, inspiring young women to pursue STEM studies.
