In the past two months I sketched and rendered 15 pictures in ProCreate and Infinite Painter on the iPad Pro and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. I could have saved myself the work.
Just making a quick sketch and uploading it to Midjourney gets much better results much fast.
I sketched the original line drawing and uploaded it to the Midjourney Discord. Then I copied the image link and fed it into Midjourney with /imagine prompt:image-path.png --ar 3:2 (the last bit is for the proportions and orientations).
When Midjourney produced four versions, I told it to upscale the one that I liked and then fed that into Midjourney again. It looks like there were a lot of folks testing out Midjourney because the service was quite busy and took a while to finish but around 15 to 20 minutes after the first render, I got a really good hyper-realistic dude smiling kindly at the onlooker. And... I didn't need to put any effort into it.
Really makes me wonder, if it really pays to learn and practice sketching and digital painting these days.
