Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted a range of Indian cultural and traditional items to the leadership of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan during his recently concluded visit to the two Central Asian countries.
The gifts reflected India’s rich literary, textile, musical and handicraft traditions. Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a traditional Indian musical instrument, premium Kangra tea and a handwritten score sheet associated with chess Grandmaster Javokhir Sindarov. Other gifts included Banarasi silk, marble inlay craftsmanship and traditional Indian jewellery.
Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov was gifted a 10-volume English translation of the Mahabharata along with a traditional woollen textile. Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev received a Dokra artwork depicting traditional Indian musicians.
The cultural gifts highlighted India’s diverse heritage while underscoring the long-standing cultural and diplomatic ties between India and Central Asia.
