ROCKWOOL's Roermond facility partnered with ABB to do exactly that, avoiding 142 tonnes of CO₂ and cutting 738 MWh of energy use every year - enough to power around 200 European households.
A comprehensive energy appraisal and a targeted motor fleet upgrade – replacing legacy IE1/IE2 motors with ABB’s IE4 and IE5 Ultra-Premium efficiency SynRM units, paired with ACS880 drives - helped ROCKWOOL achieve tangible results: the world-leading supplier of fire-resilient stone wool insulation met its payback target, enabled cleaner production, and created a blueprint others can follow.
