So when a cough that wouldn't go away turned into breathing issues, then coughing up blood, doctors weren't thinking cancer. Six months after her first symptom, Nay was diagnosed with stage 4 ALK-positive lung cancer, non-small cell lung adenocarcinoma that had already spread to her brain.
