Before becoming one of the world’s most iconic recording studios, the EastWest Studios building lived many lives:

• Built in 1933 as CashIs King grocery market
• Transformed into Madame Zucca’s Hollywood Casino, then The French Casino
• Converted in 1950 into Radio Center Theatre
• Renamed Western Recorders in 1957 and later taken over by engineer Bill Putnam

From grocery store to casino to broadcast stage to legendary studio — this is the origin of EastWest Studios.
