13 years ago, Sapphire transformed the way the industry installs balconies. In 2026, we’re changing the game again.
In 2013, we introduced Glide-On™ balconies. With this revolutionary system, our balconies could be manufactured off-site using modern methods of construction and installed rapidly after the building façade was completed. Since then, we’ve sold over 60,000 balconies worldwide.
But this system is not without its flaws – and over the years, some of our customers have pointed these out to us:
• Protruding arms interfere with scaffolding and site logistics, and could be a poor fit on constrained sites
• A site visit is required to install steel arms to stubs, meaning increased cost and lower programme certainty
• Connecting arms to stubs requires installers working at height
At Sapphire, we’re always finding new ways to innovate. So we asked ourselves: what if we didn’t need to install the arms? What if we could install balconies directly onto the stubs instead?
That question led us to develop our latest system. And with it, we’ve not only fixed the problems with Glide-On™ – we’ve developed an installation method that will become the new industry standard.
