Fear is normal when AI arrives, but fear disappears fast when people have tools, training and the chance to try it for themselves
In my recent conversation with Timo Elliott, Innovation Evangelistat SAP, we explored how trust grows when employees experience real value, instead of only hearing theoretical benefits. As Timo said, “You want every employee to understand how to get the most out of the technology rather than resisting it.”
He shared a powerful example from a global organisation using SAP SuccessFactors with embedded AI for more than 85,000 employees worldwide. By integrating AI directly into everyday HR tasks, people could see how it helped with goal setting, feedback and personal development. The impact speaks for itself:
• 80 percent said AI helped them give better feedback
• 47 percent increase in employees giving feedback more frequently
• 30 percent uplift in positive sentiment around goal setting
This shows that when AI becomes part of daily workflows, trust replaces uncertainty, curiosity replaces fear, and momentum replaces hesitation.
