From 5 to 1,300+ Clusters: Declarative Scaling for Private Kubernetes - Shota Yoshimura, Senior Platform Engineer, LY Corporation
LY Corporation operates one of Japan’s largest private Kubernetes platforms, managing more than 1,300 clusters and 40,000+ nodes with only 15 platform engineers. This 3-minute keynote will share how LY uses Kubernetes custom resources and controllers to define infrastructure declaratively and automate cluster provisioning, scaling, upgrades, and recovery across OpenStack-based private infrastructure. Using the platform architecture diagram as the focal point, the talk will show how declarative automation reduced provisioning from weeks to hours, enabled zero-downtime operations, and turned Kubernetes into a self-service platform for product teams.
