In a ceremony at the Emergency Services Academy on 27 May 2022, 33 permanent and 155 on-call recruits graduated as firefighters, which has added 188 people to the FRNSW ranks.
The ceremony was also attended by NSW Minister for Emergency Services the Hon. Steph Cooke MP, NSW Police Deputy Commissioner Peter Thurtell, NSW RFS Assistant Commissioner Ben Millington, Resilience NSW Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons AFSM, and Surf Life Saving CEO Steven Pearce AFSM GAICD.
All the graduates will join the more than 7,000 firefighters that make up the FRNSW ranks, and if they haven’t already, will be assigned to FRNSW stations across metro and regional areas.
