On this episode of Adventures of La Mari, I am heading to the Fränkische Volksfest Crailsheim. Fränkisch being the German word for Franconia, although technically Crailsheim sits in what is now Hohenlohe - not Franconia.

This volksfest was started by Wilhem I, the second king of Württemberg for his silver coronation anniversary and was originally called the Landwirtschaftliches Bezirksfest zur Hebung und Förderung der Landwirtschaft im fränkisch-hohenlohischen Raum. Even Germans found that to be a mouthful so it’s been since shortened to the Fränkisches Volksfest Crailsheim.
