Friko, from Chicago, Illinois, are on their second album Something Worth Waiting For. They're not inventing anything new, but they're fresh, energetic, and above all, they write original songs that skillfully blend genres. The indie rock approach remains, but the melodies and sound are more effective than in their debut. The album's opening is powerful and passionate, but we recommend listening to the sixth track, "Seven Degrees," which is splendid and embellished with a Beatles-esque touch, to fully appreciate the band's ever-growing capabilities. The album was produced by the experienced and renowned John Congleton.
