This Monday morning’s Music + Coffee combo.
What a record! Blues legends; Bill Broonzy, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, in session with music journalist Studs Terkel for WMFT Chicago radio broadcast in 1959. This is a brilliant collaborative performance of blues songs interspersed with humorous chat.
This record is from a great Bristol store called 'Friendly Records'. I've not yet been to the shop but when the doors reopen in August, I'll be there with bells on. Thanks to my bandmate, Rob Pemberton, for introducing me to this fabulous album and store.

I'm really excited to have found 'Girls Who Grind Coffee' roasters. Based in Wiltshire, they support women in the coffee industry: baristas, roasters, and also farmers. This particular coffee - the 'Kirindera Women's Peace Coffee' - goes the extra mile by employing women in the Virunga National Park (Democratic Republic of Congo) to provide an alternative to joining the armed groups that are destabilising the region. What incredible work.
The tasting notes are "sweet, chewy, maple syrup, rhubarb and rose". It's a beauty.
