Tenacious Torrent | Friendless | Let Me In | Animation part! (READ DESC!) Sketch styled @Tori_T_Artist | Uploaded 2 years ago | Updated 1 hour ago
This is in a sketchy style to fit the music’s tone! Otherwise this would be fully colored and shaded!
This project was special to me. I don’t want to go into details, but the lyrics completely described something I went through years ago, so I couldn’t help but express those pent up feelings into this. Feels good to finally and accurately convey what these feelings were like.
My favorite part of the song (not animated) was when the tone shifts. The lyrics start singing about another stranger in the water, and a plank of wood drifting by. The narrator holds onto the plank, then reaches out to the stranger and makes room for her, despite the danger. Then the chorus changes to “Let her in, from this storm” and so forth, replacing “I” with “her”. Reaching out to someone with these feelings of loneliness and rejection means the WORLD to them, so don’t hesitate. I never had anyone reach out, I helped myself, but I know how much it would’ve meant if a stranger actually saw me and offered their friendship, not their judgements.
Anyways, really connected to this song so I made a 45 second long animation :) It helped me apply what I’ve learned in animation class too.
Art and animation belong to me.
