On March 15 2019 a student led climate march, inspired by Greta Thunberg of Sweden, resulted in over 1 million people worldwide taking to the streets. I attended the rally where I live, in Victoria BC Canada, on the traditional lands of the Lkwungen, Songhees, and Esquimalt nations. There were many speakers, and some music, comments often reminded us of the Indigenous First Nations cultures who have inhabited and cared for these magnificent lands for many hundreds of thousands of years.
