A no frills Friday reads.
Seji from The Artisan Geek has some Very fair and level criticism of the community, in her video Hopelessness and exclusion from the reading community. Specifically the call to not tokenize black creators.

Ruth from KindleReads has an excellent video that has helped frame these current events into a very real and emotional perspective. This is the video that made me aware of The Black Poets.

Tori from ToriMorrow has some wonderful reading recommendations and thoughts, along with powerful admonitions as how we can be better allies.

To quote Ashley from Bookish Realm's - I don't Trust You - "It sucks that it took the death of a black man for ya'll to feel like I'm important" "My life is not your next social media trend" I believe the video has been removed, but I feel it's important to share the quote.
These issues aren't isolated to a small region of the world. There's history we don't know even from places nearby. I'd recommend watching Secret Alberta: The Former Life of Amber Valley

Stay safe, be kind and let's learn as we can.
I should have added that I'm reading The Dollmaker by Nina Allan. Does anyone read these? Bonus points if you do.
