"I grew up in this town," says Bruce Smith.
For farmer Bruce Smith, the Osseo Farmers Market is more than just a place to sell his produce.
"I can sit here and just talk to friends and relatives I went to school with. We walked to school. We went to Osseo right there," says Smith.
And when you're selling to people you know, quality matters.
Bruce Smith talk about produce at his Osseo Farmers Market Stand.
"It's way fresher, because it doesn't have to travel," says Smith. "What you are getting out of California, no offense, I grow the same strawberry varieties that they do in the summer, ours are always better. One, we can pick them right when they're ripe, we don't have to pick them and have them ripen as they ride. Two, they are days fresher."
Not only does the Osseo Farmers Market feature Bruce's fresh produce, but Osseo Parks and Rec committee member Dee Bonn encourages people to check out the wide variety of other goods available.
"So many different things between treats and food and everything and then we've got the popcorn man, and we've got the lady who makes desserts," says Bonn.
Vendors hope you'll come and enjoy their produce and maybe stay a while to chat.
"I can talk to relatives and friends all doggone day if I want," says Smith.
