Big upgrades are coming to Hillsborough County! Join us as we celebrate a massive milestone for the United Food Bank and the families they serve in our community.
With a $104,000 donation approved by the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, the United Food Bank has officially rolled out a brand-new, state-of-the-art refrigerated box truck and a new forklift!
This game-changing vehicle doubles the capacity of their old equipment, turning multiple, half-day trips into a single, efficient run. More importantly, the new refrigeration technology means thousands of residents across eastern Hillsborough County—including seniors, students, and working families—will now have direct access to fresh, healthy fruits, vegetables, and nutritious food right when they need it most.
From distributing 1 million pounds of food years ago to now surpassing over 5 million pounds annually, the incredible growth of the United Food Bank is a true testament to the power of community, collaboration, and our dedicated local volunteers.
