If you stroll down the streets of Paris any time of year, you’re sure to see beautiful women everywhere with berets on top of their heads, in every color of the rainbow. The catch? These women are almost certainly tourists.

While the beret has become an iconic emblem of France around the world, and while you’re sure to find one in almost every souvenir shop in France, I personally would never wear one. It’s simply not something French people do!

In today’s lesson, I’ll talk about some so-called French fashion trends and explain what types of clothing we actually wear versus what is simply a stereotype or a romanticized version of French fashion.

Take care and stay safe.
