This review is Part 1 Contents/Breakfast of a French MRE or French Individual Freeze-Dried Ration, Ration Individuelle Lyophhilise or R.I.L. from 2015. It is designed to be used in place of the Ready-to-Eat style RCIR when weight is an issue and water is plentiful. This menu weighed 1,046 grams but the R.I.L. is generally designed to weigh 1,000 g or 1 kg. Each of these rations has approximately 3,400 calories to sustain a soldier under strenuous conditions for 24 hours. I hope you enjoy watching this ration review as I did sampling it.
