This is a brief but visual insight into the stunning work of French art photographer, Vincent Fournier, exhibiting at the Perth Centre for Photography gallery in mid-2016.
Mixing history and anticipation, memory and science fiction, the Post Natural History project imagines a collection of ‘upcoming species’ based upon synthetic biology and cybernetics.
Presented in the style of a cabinet of curiosity, with its uncanny but also familiar beauty, this poetic and sensitive bestiary questions our relationship to nature and technology.
Vincent Fournier was born in 1970 and lives in Paris. After graduating with a sociology degree and a Masters in Visual Arts, he obtained a diploma from the National School of Photography in Arles in 1997.
