NOTICE: This video is old and crappy. It was the first approach I got that worked. Placements where still in flux and don't work this way anymore. Here is a video you can try instead:

( Yeesh so much for self-interest )
This is a demo I made as an answer to a question on reddit found here: reddit.com/r/FreeCAD/comments/613g64/how_do_i_go_about_designing_this/.
It shows how to design four legs that are splaying outward.
I use the Part Design Workbench with Sketcher. This is one way to accomplish this, there are likely better ways. I , for now, spend most of my time in Part Design Workbench.
Feel free to request this demo accomplished through Part Workbench or Draft Workbench. I would be happy to re-create.
Here are some jump off points:
00:00 Introduction
00:45 Start Sketching
01:13 Fillet Sketch Corners
01:39 Length Constraints
02:20 Circles
01:54 Symmetry Constraints
03:00 Constrain point to a line
03:15 Pad Main Body
03:20 Start the Posts
05:40 Moving the Post Sketch into Position
06:17 Moving the Post Sketch in X and Y axis
06:45 Padding to a Face
07:45 Use Polar Patten to add a Leg
08:00 Use Mirror to create 2nd and 3rd Legs
08:30 Sketch for holes in the leg
09:00 Pocket the Sketch
09:10 Polar Pattern and Mirror the Pocket
