Here’s the deal: Most drummers assume that playing syncopated patterns on the ride during a groove is an advanced skill, but you can actually teach your right hand to improvise rhythms even as a beginner. This is a super achievable skill, and you can get started today!
We’re breaking down in 4 steps how to use alternating singles to automatically create syncopated rhythms on the ride (maybe without you even realizing it!), then we’ll learn how to coordinate that with your other limbs so you can build ride syncopation into your groove.
