Good news for opera lovers (and the opera-curious): you don't need a ticket, a reservation, or even a suit to experience world-class opera in New York City this week. The Metropolitan Opera's annual Summer HD Festival brings free outdoor opera screenings right to the plaza in front of The Met at Lincoln Center, running September 2-7, 2026.
