David was placed in Saul’s life as a blessing, but Saul saw him as a curse. David made Saul’s army to have victories. David’s harp playing cast demons out of Saul. But when Saul got a jealous eye towards David, he allowed the devil to twist the truth and he saw David as a curse to him. He thought that the brighter David shined, the less Saul shined. But that wasn’t true. If Saul could’ve learned from David and received from David, Saul would’ve then shone brighter than he currently was. Imagine if Elisha was jealous of Elijah. He never would’ve received his mantle and double portion.
There are people today who are called to be spiritual sons and daughters of anointed ministers. They are called to receive impartation through these servants of God and some to even receive double portion like Elisha did. But they have to decide to have a humble heart and see the servant of God as the true blessing to their life that they are. When viewing them in the wrong way (with a jealous eye), it only brings harm to oneself (and God’s work if you act on the feeling of jealousy) and keeps one from receiving the anointing and walking in their purpose.
