This 100% free preset for After Effects will let you easily add floating 3D dust, pollen, bokeh, snow, or underwater particles to your footage or animations. To download, go to CreationEffects.com and head to the Freebies page. If you download the presets, please like or comment below.
This tutorial shows how to install it, as well as some cool things you can do with it. The dust is compatible with 3D cameras in After Effects. Using a clip from Avatar, I'll show how you can motion-track your footage and composite the dust, so that it looks like its part of the scene. You can even add a texture to the particles for extra realism and detail. Simply apply the animation preset to a Solid layer, then use the customization controls to get the right look for your floating particles.
