Download free 4K film grain overlays to add analog texture to your videos:

The picture quality of digital cameras as gotten so good that they look really sharp, really clinical, almost to the point of looking sterile.
There's something gravitating about film grain when you see it. The texture, the finish, it really makes you think of something classic, something timeless.
Film grain as opposed to the signal "noise" from digital sensors is organic and beautiful.
But there's no way to replicate this any longer in camera as we have switched from analog to digital.
There is a trick however.
You see if you capture an 18% gray card (or middle gray) on motion picture film you're able to capture the grain texture inherent in the process of shooting on celluloid.
In post this recorded video file can then be overlaid over top of your digital footage and then set the composite/blending/transfer mode of the footage with the recorded film grain to "screen" or "overlay."
This allows you to effectively imitate the look of film grain on your digital video.
What's awesome is we have prepared for you 5 different film grain files from real 35mm film scans to use on your footage.
You can screen record them from the video.
