Matt & I bought a Smart Car in 2022, and the car is manufactured by Mercedes.
A couple of weeks ago the check engine light came on, so we had the car towed (Mahalo Frank’s Auto Repair & AAA) to the Mercedes Service Center in Kona (oh no, not the dealership $$$$).
We started to weigh our options without a car; rent a Turo, or use the Hele On (the free bus on the Big Island).
We chose the bus from Volcano (around 25 min. walk from our house and hour ride) to Hilo, then on to Kona (two and a half hours) via the Hamakua Coast. The bus dropped us approximately 2 blocks from the service center, and we have been given this 2018 C Class Mercedes Benz loaner (sadly not electric) until our car is finished.
