Fred Parris and Lewis "Lou" Peeples were both connected with New Haven's legendary Five Satins. Parris was best known for writing In the Still of the Night and also wrote You'll Be Mine Tonight.

You'll Be Mine Tonight was originally released in 1961, surviving as a deep cut doo wop favorite, later resurfacing on oldies collections and finding new listeners drawn to the softer, romantic side of early r&b vocal harmony.
