Delta Air Lines and the Queens Museum present Mother by Fred Wilson as a part of the LaGuardia Arts Program.
In this installation, a multi-level sculpture of globes tilted at various angles to display multiple geographies from a single vantage point, surrounded by the artist’s signature black “drips." The piece is located in the east atrium void, spanning and visible from the SSCP, check in, and baggage claim levels.
Fred Wilson is a New York-based sculptor of African, Native American, European and Caribbean Island descent, born in the Bronx, member of the board of trustees of the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.
