Fred Elizalde plays an unissued take of "Nobody's Sweetheart". He recorded an issued take of this on June 17th, 1932, which I uploaded on my YouTube channel a few years ago. The version we hear here was recorded a year and a half earlier and is very different…..Elizalde takes more liberties compared to the issued version, as he meanders around impressionistic lines of thought. It sounds as if he is improvising too, whereas the issued take from 1932 is more structured.

Unfortunately, the metal master or stamper this vinyl 78 was pressed from in the 1970s was corroded due to not being stored correctly, causing some surface noise. I have managed to tame the worst of the unwanted noise. Luckily, there is none of the "swish" heard on many corroded metal masters and stampers (including other unissued piano solos by Fred Elizalde!).
