Here's a virtual movie of the great Walt Whitman reading two of his poems marking the revolutionary spirit "France" & "To A Foil'D European Revolutionaire" In these two poem Whitman expresses his support for the overturning of oppression by the ordinary citizen through if necessary violent revolution such as had taken place in France. His whole ethos was to challenge conventionality and feudal France was a place where free expression had long been suppressed.
