Framework Computer, the company known for its modular and upgrade-friendly laptops, has officially become a KDE Patron, increasing its support for the open-source ecosystem.
KDE is one of the most popular Linux desktop environments, powering the KDE Plasma desktop used by millions of Linux users worldwide. By joining the KDE Patron program, Framework is contributing financially to help support KDE development.
To become a KDE Patron, companies must contribute €5,000 per year for smaller organizations or €10,000 per year for larger companies. Framework now joins other major supporters of KDE such as Canonical, Google, SUSE, Slimbook, Rocky Linux, Kubuntu Focus, and The Qt Company.
Framework has already built a strong reputation in the Linux community thanks to its repairable, upgradeable hardware and support for open-source projects.
Beyond KDE, Framework also sponsors several other open-source initiatives including Xfce, NetBSD, FreeBSD, NixOS, Hyprland, and LVFS.
