Voice of reason
Trying to tell me to give up, to stop dreaming

On my work, freezing
On the mic, while I write, needing
More to this game than I thought, leaving
The past behind but losing my entire being
So now I’m cleaning out my closet
I met the love of my life
She told me don’t stop believing
So, I’ve been doing me
I’ve been writing free
Yeah, doing what’s meant to be
Riding around with my queen
Pulling up in a limousine
On my way to the silver screen
I’m off the meds, I’m finally clean
And I visualize
Life neutralized
And I realized
This is “the rise”
In the middle of the night
I found my way to the light
So now I write
About all the demons I used to fight
Yeah, the worst is over, yeah I survived
Happy to say that I feel good inside
I’ve killed the thought of suicide
I’m back, yeah I revived
And now looking back in retrospect
I guess I did resurrect
As an artist
It was in the days that were the darkest
That I started to harness
My love and rise above the darkness
Like a phoenix from the ashes
I had to burn, to find my passion
Now it’s movie magic
Lights, camera, action
You only get one life, so now I’m down to the wire
Soaring higher
In pursuit of setting my soul on fire
Im following my destiny
By giving the world the best of me
This divine design is my human supremacy
So like the phoenix, I’m back to leave my legacy
