A brief comparison of stock omnidirectional rubber ducky antennas vs. circular polarized cloverleaf + skew planar antennas and stock Sony 1/3" CCD board camera lens and 2.8mm wide angle lens. All footage shot at same location (Coyote Basin Park, Phoenix, AZ) under similar conditions. It's a very electrically noisy urban environment, right next to a Costco with presumably thousands of electronic devices running. Also a lot of reflective surfaces to cause multipathing of the video signal. Circular polarization on transmitter and receiver antennas fixed the problem. Wide angle lens also tested and provided much better field of view for orientation, decreased perceived motion in maneuvering and turbulence, and very little downside. Hopefully this may be some help to other guys just getting into FPV and making choices about antennas and lenses. The setup is HobbyKing 5.8gHz 200mw and Sony 1/3" CCD board camera.
