- sharpie/ marker
- knife
- a well-ventilated area to work in :)
If you're into tech poi, contact poi, or poi juggling, you’ve probably heard of VPC - a rope that many serious poi spinners consider the absolute best leash for poi because:
• the braided polyester sheath has the perfect balance of slip + friction for tosses
• it’s stiff enough to be stable and easy to grab, but flexible enough for tangles
• it’s incredibly durable, has basically zero stretch, and combines properties of dynamic and static ropes
However the vectran core doesn’t melt, so it’s a pain to make and adjust your leash. You can't just cut and melt it. VPC requires epoxy for a good finish, which is messy and difficult to work with. While the low-stretch of vectran is important when attached to a sailboat, your poi aren’t going to come close to stretching a rope this thick.
Enter FPC - flowtoys' custom made solution. Feels and handles like VPC, made by the same manufacturer, but with a polyester core, so you can simply cut and melt the ends to finish.
