Hiking Gifu | Found this very red spider/tick/mite while hiking in Gifu, Japan. Unsure of what it is… @HikingGifu | Uploaded March 2022 | Updated October 2024, 1 day ago.
While hiking Mt Futatsumori in Gifu prefecture, my daughter found this bug along the trail. The closest match in Google search was a Takaradani (Treasure Mite). Usually they grow to 1mm-2mm. This was a little larger, also the date when active was earlier (Takaradani from May, this video taken March 21st).
If anyone can enlighten me it would be appreciated!
