In this video, I present to you our fourth road trip on Forza Horizon, and this time we go on an off-road journey travelling in Rally Cars!
Like my "Forza Horizon - Movie Cars Road Trip", instead of just making another car manufacturer based road trip video, I believed it would be a nice idea to get some awesome rally cars together and go on an off-road trip! We got together some of the most iconic rally cars and manufacturers, including Subaru, Mitsubishi, Lancia, Ford and Audi, along with some really nice rally paint jobs (Courtesy of the Storefront) of course, and took off on our journey!
Our trip takes us around what seems like a rally track, the majority of it being off road until the final few roads which are tarmac. I first discovered this route back in the demo of Horizon, and always stuck out to me as a great off-roading track. Also, to make it relate more to rallying, this off-road route suits very well and allows our rally cars to do what they do best!
Now before I get the odd few people complaining and suggesting their own Rally Cars which weren't in the video, I'm completely aware there are a bunch more rally cars we could of used, however there are reasons why they weren't included:
1: The "Rally DLC" for Forza Horizon contains some very iconic, and awesome rally cars but unfortunately none of us had the DLC as after looking at several reviews, we decided it's not worth the price it's labelled, the only reason we would buy it was for the cars, of which there weren't many!
2: As this was filmed during the summer, many of our usual drivers were either out, on holiday or working during the time of filming. So there were quite a few people out, which meant we had to think about the cars we were to choose.
3: This was filmed in a slight rush, as we didn't have an extremely long period to film the trip in, so iconic paint jobs such as the classic blue Subaru rally paint job weren't included as we were in a slight rush when upgrading the vehicles.
I wanted to get the highest quality video I could out to you guys, instead of making several quick gameplay videos every so often as I am a strong believer in "Quality over Quantity". So please enjoy the video for what it is, and also enjoy the sensation of watching, arguably, some of the greatest rally cars (Audi Quattro, Lancia Stratos, etc...) go on a road trip together!
Ever since playing the original "Colin McRae Rally" game on PS1, I've taken a strong interest in the sport of Rally. 2 days ago would of marked Colin McRae's 45th Birthday, and to me he will always be a true inspiration to drivers, and a legend in Rallying. Although we couldn't get his exact rally car (Due to it being DLC), I paid a little tribute to Colin early on in the video with some of his most famous words. RIP Colin McRae.
Now the first piece of music in the main part of the trip you may recognise from one of the greatest rally games ever made, that is DiRT 2! The song I'm talking about is named "Helicopter" by Bloc Party, a great tune to be listening to whilst sliding sideways down a dirt track! The second song I also used back in the "Movie Cars Road Trip", and it linked so well with rally due to the gritty nature of the song that I thought it couldn't be left out of this trip, and that song is "Underdog" by Kasbien, a fantastic piece of music!
Finally, as before, I would like to apologise for the lack of videos lately, this is due to various important things causing everything to be very busy in the last few, and forthcoming months. So hopefully I'll be creating more videos in around a months time but for now, I cannot be producing as many as I normally do for certain reasons. That's why it was important for me to get this video out as soon as possible, whilst trying not to rush it with the time I had.
