Today’s Preorder car is something more modest compared to yesterday’s. Once again, in this series I’ll take each of the preorder edition cars and compare them side-by-side to their regular counterparts. Preorder cars are as they sound, they’re special cars that are given for preordering Forza Horizon 4 from different retailers. They usually have more power and more torque, weight less, and have better handling than their default versions

AMG GT R PO is similar to Focus PO in that it’s supposedly unreleased. Once again, I can’t confirm or deny that, a lot of the realities of the Focus are shared with the AMG GT R; I’ve heard that it was given out to popular youtubers and promoters in the Forza community, and it’s also been modded into people’s garages and duplicated all across the auction house. I’m not even sure what retailer would have given out this preorder car, there’s been no speculation on that

But that’s neither here nor there, only thing that matters is the one I have to compare for you all. AMG GT R PO starts at S1-900, and lands at S2-995 with its unique Racing V12 swap (unique in that the regular model doesn’t get it), and AWD drivetrain swap. Without any swaps however, it lands at S2-957. Regular AMG GT R starts at S1-858 and lands at S2-947

Both have been max tuned without any swaps. AMG GT R gets 902 hp, 763 lb-ft of torque and weights 2,816 lbs. AMG GT R PO gets 993 hp (91 hp more), 843 lb-ft of torque (80 lb-ft more), and weights 2,768 lbs (48 lbs less). AMG GT R tops at 231.2 mph with 398 lbs of downforce on the rear, does 0-60 in 3.103s, does 0-100 in 6.024s, and produces 2.2 lateral Gs. AMG GT R PO tops at 241.4 mph also with 398 lbs of downforce on the rear, does 0-60 in 3.335s, 0-100 in 7.042s and also produces 2.2 lateral Gs

Some of y’all may have noticed in previous videos how the regular version of the car sometimes has the faster 0-100 over the PO edition. In this case, the AMG GT R has both the faster 0-60 and 0-100, particularly outpacing the GT R PO to 100 by over a second. I’m not sure what’s up with that, ideally more power + more torque + less weight = faster car. I guess not

These two cars do feel relatively similar overall, they both get 2.2 lateral Gs and I don’t doubt that because AMG GT R PO doesn’t feel like it handles a whole lot better than the regular model. This is in comparison to the Focus RS PO and its regular counterpart, where in their case I do feel the difference between the two. Hell, for the first half of this race, the regular model was actually ahead of the PO GT R. PO GT R really excels once it gets its V12 swap. In any case, AMG GT R PO was able to come back and take the win, but only with a 2 second difference
