Fortnite Season 8 began early Thursday morning, and based on the launch trailer, we know that pirates invaded the island just as a volcano erupted into existence. Lazy Lagoon in the north-central area of the map seems like the place where the pirates have set up their main outpost, but they’ve also established a number of camps across the map.
Thankfully, all of the locations are clearly visible from the map and even easier to see from the air. The dark brown hues aren’t quite the bright red of the expedition outposts, but they look unusual enough that most players will notice them immediately. They also have flags and plenty of pirate cannons inside them.
Fortnite Season 8 pirate camps
Here are all of the pirate camps in Season 8.
Also consider another Week 1 challenge to use Volcano Vents in different matches. It can’t hurt to dive on top of a vent on your initial trip down to the island just to knock that challenge out as soon as possible.
Visiting all seven pirate camps in a single match is definitely possible, but with the X-4 Stormwings, shopping carts, and all terrain carts vaulted (per the version 8.00 patch notes), it will be slightly more difficult. We were able to find a Quadcrasher at the pirate camp located west of Dusty Divot, and it’s possible that you can find these at other locations as well. You could also try using a cannon at each location to launch yourself to the next one.
Because they’re all so spread out, players are just going to have to work with whatever their battle bus and storm trajectories are. We were able to visit six in a single match by doggedly and recklessly focusing on the task.
Most of the pirate camps are dark wooden structures built on top of houses or other pre-existing buildings. They’re much taller than your average Fortnite building, making them even easier to see from afar.
Perhaps best of all, you don’t even have to get that close to them for the challenge to trigger. Sometimes, a casual drive past them will suffice.
