Ok, this will probably be my last Td Disco Kid video because, with this improvement, I was able to match the TAS time (0:21.77). I say "probably" because although Mysteryman95 just TASed it, he is going to double-check it again to see if it's actually the limit. EDITED: 21.77 actually is the limit so yay no more td disco.
TAS for this fight was originally 22.58 for a couple of years, that all changes today. I and Andy went strat hunting on TD Disco Kid because we both believed that there could be something faster for this guy... We almost gave up because we were running out of options but then I thought "let's try skipping his first taunt". I tested this and I was able to come up with this strat that gets a sub-22.
I'll explain the fight in detail for those who haven't seen the last video, probably going to put the previous video (0:21.83) on private now because I don't want to clutter my channel with disco kid videos haha
This fight requires 15 frame-perfect inputs. It also requires motion controls so you can have access to lefty stars. The first 2 punches of the fight are buffered. The first one is canceling his taunt and the second one is intercepting his straight jab. While he is reeling to the right, hook him with a right gut punch for a star. After that you need to slightly delay your left gut punch so he goes into his hook. Counter the hook with a right gut punch and while Disco is reeling to the left, hook him with a left gut punch for a second star and buffer the lefty 2-star punch.
After the lefty star punch he goes into his 2 straight jabs, all of which you intercept with a left gut punch and while he is reeling, hit him with a right gut punch to receive a star. Make sure you do this twice so you have 2 stars in your inventory. (This is all not buffered btw) Once you received your 2nd star buffer another lefty star punch.
While he comes back once again, he'll do a straight jab; once again you will intercept with a left gut punch and while he is reeling you do a right gut punch to earn a star. Then provoke him with a left gut punch (this is not buffered) so he'll go into this hook, intercept that with a right gut punch and that's a knockdown.
For Phase 2, it's the same as the 22.58 strat; All you need to do is counter his taunt, do a delayed gut punch, then do a very slightly delayed triple star punch into his disco flurry, which KO's him
