Irv Cross played nine seasons in the NFL before a pioneering career as a broadcaster on CBS. Cross, who is now battling mild cognitive impairment, is a staunch advocate for kids to play flag football instead of tackle, having first advocated for youth flag football at Pop Warner Football’s 50th Anniversary Celebration in 1979.
