Rocky Adkins officially announced his candidacy for governor Tuesday. The former senior adviser to Gov. Andy Beshear, D-Ky., also served as Democratic floor leader in the Kentucky House. For almost 40 years, Adkins has worked in public service. In his announcement release, he said his campaign will focus on “building a commonwealth that works for everyone by lowering costs, strengthening public schools and healthcare, protecting workers and organized labor, defending our fundamental freedoms and creating opportunity in every community.”
