A former aide to embattled New York City Mayor Eric Adams was arrested Tuesday for alleged witness tampering and destruction of evidence in connection with an ongoing investigation into the mayor.

Mohamed Bahi is accused of lying to the FBI and deleting an encrypted messaging app from his phone right before agents searched his house. He is the first person other than Adams to be charged in the investigation.
