For Spring/Summer 1991, Yves Saint Laurent showed a collection that looked back at the styles he was already known for. Jackets and coats moved gently, and fabrics like bouclé wool and velvet gave the clothes a softer feel. The most exciting part of the show came with lingerie-inspired dresses made from black lace, corset details, and sheer fabrics. The eveningwear stood out the most, with rich colors like emerald, ruby, orange, and fuchsia. Flowing chiffon gowns and dramatic Infanta-style dresses closed the runway, including a wedding look worn by longtime muse Lucie de la Falaise.
