This is the first project where we’ve done hot bending on this scale. With simple equipment we were able to accomplish the bending of two bolts made from 3 inch round steel, 30 feet long.

This video shows the making of a large bending fork, a custom 10 foot long gas forge, and the set up required to use a payloader to do the pushing. 
Harty Locomotive Works is a blacksmith and machine shop located in Alberta Canada, and among other projects we are currently restoring a 1925 Vulcan steam locomotive.
