This video instructional demonstrates how to play the lead electric guitar parts for Hillsong's "Forever Reign."
Production Notes:
~ Add a healthy amount of reverb :)
~ Use light overdrive for the verses and first chorus. Kick on a heavier overdrive for the second chorus and the instrumental
~ Apply slow and shallow vibrato during the verses 2 & 3
~ Use an eighth note digital delay for the choruses while tapping in quarter notes
The version of the song I'm playing to is by One Sonic Society. However, the electric guitar parts are exactly the same in both versions...actually you'd be hard pressed to find one inconsistency between the two versions...the singers even sound the same! Side note: why would an artist want to manufacture the exact same work of art? ....but I guess you could ask me why I'm showing you the exact parts to this song in order for you to duplicate them exactly....hmmmm, I guess I'm caught in my own argument! At any rate, enjoy the song, it's a good one no matter who sings it ;)
