Gino & Elio Car Collection Part 2

This week we are back at Gino and Elio's for the second instalment of there collection. This time we are looking at a couple of American beauties. First up is Elio's 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1, and then Gino's 1970 Ford Mustang Boss. Both cars were brought in from the states by Gino, the Ford Mustang Boss in 2006 and the Mustang Mach 1 in 2008. Then Elio bought the Mach 1 from him in 2018.

Although there is only one year between the two Mustang's there are some differences. mostly body styling like the scoop's in the rear quarters on the Mach 1 were deleted in the 1970 Boss. And the front and rear light set up is different.

Elio has done very little work on the Ford Mustang Mach 1 since owning the vehicle, all he has done is upgrade braking system, new suspension, new gearshift and dress up the engine bay. The Mach 1 was original located in Washington DC before coming to Australia and the original colour was Acapulco Blue Poly and the car was resprayed before arriving to Western Australia. The Ford Mustang Mach 1 is a 1of1 option Mustang due to intermission wiper options on the vehicle.

The Mach 1 is running a 390 big block V8 Engine, top loader gearbox and non LSD 9 inch diff all from factory specification. The engine bay has had a new radiator installed and new Holley carby are the only changes, however, Elio is planning to rebuild the engine as its a bit tired and keep it factory minus a small cam. The Hot Pink battery is support woman suffering from Breast Cancer, which a get cause to assist.

Now Gino's 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302, was brought sight unseen out of America and the previous owner had stated the car needed a bit of work. However, when it arrived it was rust times 3. Gino did a nut and bolt full restoration on the Ford Mustang Boss 302 which took 2 years to completed. The paint colour is Calypso Carol and its brilliant. This Mustang was the first vehicle in Gino's Car Collection when he started collecting and it very special to him.

The Ford Mustang Boss is running a 302 Windsor Block Engine with Cleveland Heads, top loader gearbox and LSD 9 inch diff as per factory specifications. The reason for the Mustang Boss 302 was created due to Trans Am Series Racing, so Ford created this Mustang for this reason and made the build and decals simple for that reason. It was also used by Allan Moffat in Touring Car Series as well and Gino was lucky enough to have Allan Moffat sign the vehicle in the engine bay and interior.

The Ford Mustang Mach 1 looks awesome in the unknown non factory silver and the Boss 302 turns head wherever they go with factory styling and designs. Once again, we see Gino and Elio's passion for there cars and how it drives them to keep them in near perfect condition. As always with these brothers drive there cars regularly and so not only do they look great they drive great as well. But the best thing is they poke fun at each other all the way. We always have great fun with these guys and cant wait to come back again for Part 3 of their Collection.
